Fast twitch muscles are used for explosive activities which can include weight training, football, jumping, wrestling. Fast twitch muscle fibers give out short bursts of energy in a very short timeframe. This is what makes a person becomes so explosive and this is also why sometimes we see a person able to jump higher than others. Because they train the fast twitch muscle fibers more efficiently.

So this is why a plyometric workout works to making a person become more explosive. A plyometric workout will consist of various forms of jumping because jumping is a form of plyometric exercise. But you also need to make caution of doing a plyometric workout. Performing plyometrics places heavy stress on the joints of the legs. Over time this can cause damage to the legs and can lead to other possible conditions in the future as well.
